Whipped fat, BABY!

Akutaq or agutak also known as Eskimo ice cream is made of whipped fat with berries and sometimes fish and sugar is added. Are you drooling now or what? I mean who wouldn't want that? Fish and berries in my ice cream, that's kind of awesome. I mean its only has 91 grams of fat!

  6. Andrew Zimmern was eating that on his Alaska episode of Bizzare Foods.

His first sampling of it he wasn't too impressed with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P3Ja-wyHRPE&t=4m34s

He then gets it made by an actual native and he really likes it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUUy0ZiUnMc&t=6m10s

So I guess it probably comes down to who makes it.

  7. From the sound of the ingredients, it looks like this ice cream is made from natural products. I only have to ask if the fish is raw? That would be cool if it is, sushi ice cream with berries!!!

  13. the idea of this.. animal fat and berries. im not very sure about it.. but like i can see why a place like alaska would come up with it. Because they can use that extra fat to stay warm during the super cold winters
